Job Description

Position Overview

Technical writer is responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for organization’s products. This person must have excellent research skills, must be able to organize their ideas and be able to translate technical terms into text that any reader can understand.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications.
• Researching about the documents from existing sources from net/books etc.
• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Writing various documents (Product Brochures, User manuals, Installation manuals, web-site documentation etc.) as required by the different departments
• Meeting with various departments to discuss the document requirements and gathering data to be included in the documents.
• Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language.
• Provide updates and different editions as necessary.
• Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of English (written and oral) and good communication skill.
• Good analytical skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills and ability to peer review technical documents for grammar, content and style of writing.
• Ability to work under tight timeframes.
• Good organizational skills.
