MY FIRST REMEDIAL EXPERIENCE

Remedial, program meant to increase the standards of Associates under training, changed my direction of progress in ILP, Trivandrum. Associates under training will be undergoing through several stages of diagnostics (tests) to check their knowledge in both technical and communication (Biz) skills.

                After the completion of my first diagnostics, I am into the Remedial along with some other Associates. Remedial for 1^st diagnostics itself changed my direction of progress in ILP, Trivandrum. Because of this Remedial, I came to know that I am not even 10% of what I am today. I sincerely suggest one to experience 1^st Remedial(I don’t mean that you must), so that you will be learning more than what you are expected to learn. Of course, I even suggest not having one more remedial as it may reduce your self-confidence.;)

                Thanks to ILP Faculty for changing my views towards coding..

TCS ILP EXPERIENCES TRIVANDRUM

Got understood y ppl say its God's own country.. What a locations.. What a scenary.. Lots of colourful birds.. A must see place in one's life.. As its a weekend yesterday we went to near by beach.. varkala.. place u ppl as usual watch in Vizag and other place near bycalled puvar its a backwater place.. Though its a bit costly its worth.. Lots of birds.. lots of trees.. much much good locations.. uploading few of them..

TCS EXPERIENCES TRIVANDRUM - DAY3

19 DECEMBER 2012

                As our session is in afternoon reached campus by 1pm and had lunch first.. They are punctual today and our first class Business skills was started today. Our LG(Learning Group.. we all will be trained on  .net) has 32 members with 19 non CS students. 2 ppl are grouped together and each given a topic.. Twist is that one should not tell of his topis but the topic of other person in the group. It was said that 2 ppl vl b batched from next day. Unlike other campus there is no CC Camera surveillance here. After 3 hours of business session a break of 45 mins was given (another break for 10mins was given between). Then started our Proj Delivery session.. It’s the session where we came to know about diff stages of our training.. what we are going to do and how they are going to assess us and so on.. It was for about an hour.. Then a break for 10 mins and started the System Induction session.. we are given Ultimax login ID’s and pwd and logged into site.. filled necessary details and ended up the session by 9:20.. though it was scheduled till 9. Then started our real problems.. Line for food coupon and for taking food was so heavy that by the time our turn came everything was finished.. we were to go outside and have our food.. ppl park is in such a area that we cant get anything after 9. Got dosa in nearby hotel and we missed the bus L got into another bus and we were forced to walk a km to reach hostel by 11pm..

TCS EXPERIENCES TRIVANDRUM- DAY2

18 DECEMBER 2012

                It was a hectic schedule starting from 7:30 AM in the morning and ending at 7 PM in the evening and the most unfortunate thing is that we were got to the campus by 6:30 PM in the morning L. Even the canteen was not opened by that time.

                As usual session started with a delay of half an hour @ 8AM with a small task to make a friend with certain conditions(15mins time is given). He/She should not be known to u before and should not be from same state or hostel and we must be knowing whether why he/she joined TCS. I got two friends, one is from Jabalpur(Madhya Pradesh) and one more is from Banglore(Karnataka). It was nice talking with them.

                Next task is that all 288 ppl of our batch were divided into 10 groups and a topic (Obviously regarding TCS) was given to all of us. One lucky J member among the group will be called for a speech delivery of 3minutes. And he/she also need to tell the names of entire team members(28members) + 1 name of the friend whom he/she had made earlier. This session was however not conducted it was a nice platform for us to interact with each other.

                Rest of the day went with seminars, knowing about TCS and its policies, do’s and do not’s. Last session was interesting as it is where the announcement of base location will be done. 288 ppl were divided into 9 learning groups(LG’s). Each group will be given training on different platforms. Platforms available here for our batch are Java, MS .Net, Unix/C++, BIPM and Java Testing. I was given MS .Net (as I prayed for) with 2^nd shift. There will be 2 shifts from morning 7 to 1:45 and 2:15 to 9 PM (Including Breaks). Only 2 groups got morning shifts and shifts can be changed depending on their requirements. And last but not least our base location(location after training) I got Banglore as per my Preference order. More than 90% of the ppl got their base locations as per their wish. Fortunately our session ended at 5:30 PM and we could move out (not everyday chance to go early).

                Thus the day ended happily with small shopping after the duty J Will be coming back with more of my experiences soon… Bye bye

TCS EXPERIENCES- DAY1

17th December 2012
It was a good informative day to all of us and even boring too.. day @ trivandrum started at 9 AM though it was expected to start @ 8 AM. We were divided into groups A, B, C and so on till J. I don know whether on what basis they had divided us and I am into group G. People of A-F were moved to SAFFRON and the rest to SESAME. SAFFRON and SESAME are the names of auditoriums here. There was an Induction program followed by PAT Test at 10AM itself(though it was expected to be post lunch). It was a 30min duration test for 36questions. Don't worry, its plenty of time. After test, we were moved to SAGE, another auditorium in the same building. Test was followed by document verification(Set 1 and Set 2) & ID cards distribution.

Set1- Service Agreement, Medical Certificate, Surety Verification Form and supporting Documents( Make sure that you had all signs and attestations done, Otherwise people outside are very eager to rob money(Demand MUCH extra money than usual as it as our need)).

Set2- All Original Certificates, Pan Card, Passport and so on. They will be given back immediately.

                After this, we were given lunch break. Food is good for South Indians here. No need to worry regarding it. Next meeting point is @ SAGE at 2:30 PM. As usual, they maintained Indian Standard Timings. Session was started at 3 PM with HDFC Bank Account Opening. It was followed by a small seminar on ULTIMATIX( TCS Employee Site) and ended with the announcement of tomorrow's Schedule.

TCS EXPERIENCE-DAY0

                Don’t get surprised that I mentioned day 0 because this is my experience on the day before joining i.e., on 16^th December 2012. Sunrise Apartments is the name of the building where I gs the name of the building where i ot accommodation. By the name Apartments I thought like it would be some 4 to 5 storeyed building.. It was just a single floored building which has accommodation capacity of around 50.. but it was quite good and  the locality was so calm and pleasant. The room are on 2 sharing basis and I got a person from Mumbai as my roommate. These are few pictures of my room
